My Nokia handset cannot send or receive picture messages and I am unable to access the WAP facility with this - What could be the problem?
A: Your phone needs configuring to the network and neets the settings activated. To do this you can either:
a) Pop into one of our service centres and we will activate these settings for you.
b) Contact your network provider and they will send you the settings via a service message.

How do I answer my Bluetooth Headset?
How can I answer calls whilst using my Bluetooth Headset
A: To answer your Bluetooth headset you have a couple of options:
a) You can press the answer botton that is located on the headset.
b) On various Nokia models there is an automatic answer facility which can be found in the 'enhancements' or 'accessories' on the main Nokia Settings Menu. This will then allow the handset to automatically answer after 2 or 3 rings when the Bluetooth headset is connected.

My phone keeps losing signal and/or dropping calls!
Hi handset keeps losing its signal and dropping calls. This happens when I am in an area where I generally receive a good signal - What could be the problem?
A: There could be a number of problems that could cause you to be losing or dropping signal, and they are:
1) There could be problems with your Network providers coverage at that particular time. Phoning them to enquire whether they are having problems within that specific area should give you an idea as to whether it is the Network or your handset.
2) There could be a software issue with your handset. We are able to upgrade the software for you, which may rectify the problem.
3) They could be a problem with the antenna on the handset that is preventing your handset from receiving a signal. Replacing the antenna on the handset may recify this problem.
4) There could be a tuning issue with your handset.

A: Your phone has probably got a faulty ear speaker. We can replace the speaker and the phone will work fine. This will be a free repair under your Nokia warranty.

A: It sounds like the microphone in your handset is faulty, and this is the reason that people cannot hear you. We can replace the microphone and the phone will then work fine. This will be a free repair if the handset is under warranty.

Should I save my Names and Numbers to the Sim Card or Phone Memory?
A: We recommend you always save to the Sim card, ensuring that should the handset become faulty you do not lose your numbers.
We would also recommend you store your numbers on a PC, ensuring that should you lose or damage your handset you still have a copy of them. This can be achieved by purchasing a datacable. Please call us for free advice and a list of our prices.

I have a new phone and need to transfer my numbers and data from one phone to the other!
I have just purchased a new handset and need to transfer my numbers and date from the old handset onto the new one - how do I do this?
A: In most cases you should be able to transfer your numbers from the phone, onto the new simcard and place it in the new handset. This will then save you the time of writing them in one at a time.

Tip!!! We recommend that you save all your numbers on your Sim Card wherever possible - this then guarantees your numbers are saved if you lose your handset!!

My keypad is not working on my Nokia handset, and when it does work it is very slow to respond - How can I fix this?
A: The problem may well be the keymat, which we sell at extremely cheap prices.
If it is not the keymat it may well be a worn or faulty UI Module. We are able to repair these for you, and this will generally resolve the problem.

I have a 6310i carkit fitted - but want a newer handset!
I have a CARK-91 carkit fitted - but want a new handset. Is the current carkit compatible with any newer handsets?
A: No it is not compatible, however we now sell an adapter that will fit into your existing kit so that you are able to use new style Nokia handsets in the car (i.e. 6230i/6610i etc). Where can I buy a new 6310i?
Where can I buy a new 6310i, and if I cannot find one what are my alternatives?
A: Unfortunately 6310i's are no longer manufactured by Nokia so it is almost impossible to purchase a new one.
Your alternatives are as follows:
1) Cellphones provide a full refurb service for Nokia 6310i's for a total cost of £59.99 including free postage. For this price we; upgrade the software to the latest version, put new front covers on the handset, clean and check all aspects of the phone including speakers and mic, provide a new genuine Nokia battery. Normal charge for this service would be £79.99 - a £20 saving.
2) We are able to supply refurbished Nokia 6310i's with a 3 month warranty for £115.00. These are now very hard to come by so please phone in advance of ordering on 01242 539539.

My battery does not last as long as it is expected to, and it occassionally powers down during conversations - Is the battery faulty?
A: It could be that your battery is faulty, or that there is a fault with the handset that is causing the battery to power down faster than normal.
We are able to test the battery and perform a check on the handset to diagnose the problem. To have the battery tested and/or the phone repaired please pop into one of our service centres or use our freepost postal service. Please ensure that the handset and battery are both brought into us.
Note that Nokia offer a 6-month warranty on are batteries if they are proven to be faulty and are accompanied by a proof of purchase. In this instance we are able to offer these exchanges on Nokia's behalf.

Bluetooth - What is Blue-Jacking?
I have heard the term "Blue-Jacking" - What is this?
A: Its when people send out random pictures or messages (generally containing a virus) to random phones. If you accept it there is then the chance that this message you receive will add a virus onto your Nokia handset.
Do not accept Bluetooth messages from any unknown sources to avoid receiving unwanted virus's. It is also advisable to 'hide your handsets visibility' so other devices do not see your handset. This can be found under 'Bluetooth' in your main menu settings.

My phone keeps sending out text/sms messages to random people without me touching the handset - Why is this?
A: This sounds like you have a virus on the handset, the most common virus's being Caribe and Warrior.
The chances are that you have caught this virus by accepting something sent to you by Bluetooth. To ensure you never have this problem again do not accept any Bluetooth messages on your handset from unknown sources.
To resolve this problem and remove the virus the handset needs to be reprogrammed and your memory card reformatted. On my Nokia screen part of the display is missing - Is this a fault and can it be repaired?
A: This is probably due to the fact that some of the segments have come loose, and is regarded as a fault subject to the phone having had no physical damage (i.e. been dropped etc). In the majority of cases this can be rectified by fitting a new screen to the handset.

A: The Nokia handset may have a fault that requires the software to be upgraded. This is a free repair subject to the phone being under warranty.

Why is my Nokia Handset not vibrating when somebody calls me?
A: Go to the 'Menu Settings' on your Nokia handset and ensure that the 'Vibrate' function has been activated. If it has not been activated then please turn it on.
If the vibrate is still not working then there may be a fault with the handset that can be repaired by upgrading the software or fitting a new Vibra Motor. We are able to provide this level of repair.

My Nokia handset does not ring when somebody is trying to call me - Can my handset be repaired?
A: To ensure that it is a fault with the handset go into the 'Menu Settings' and ensure that a ringtome is selected and check that the phone has not been set on silent.
If the phone still does not ring (it may however vibrate in these circumstances) then there is a fault with the handset. This fault can generally ber easily repaired by fitting a new internal speaker or upgrading the software on the handset. This will be a free repair subject to your Nokia handset still being in warranty.

My phone is asking for a 'Security Code' - and without inputting this code I am unable to turn the phone on. Can this be fixed?
A: The Nokia default Security Code is 12345, so it is worth trying this initially.

What is the Nokia Warranty period on my Nokia handset?
A: Any Nokia Handsets manufactured BEFORE 1st April 2005 have a 12 month warranty from the date of purchase.
Any Nokia handset purchased ON or AFTER 1st April 2005 have a 24 month warranty from the date of purchase.
The battery and the accessories that come in the box with the phone have a 6 month warranty from the date of purchase.
All warranty claims must be made by including the proof of purchase (i.e. receipt or contract agreement) clearly showing the date and the place of purchase.

I have a 6310i and even though I save words using the T9 predictive text function on the phone I find on occassions that the words are not saved - What is the problem?
A: If the phone keeps forgetting these words it could require a new RTC Battery which is part of the screen module. We are able to supply and fit these upon request.

A: The screen (LCD) could be faulty and need replacing - which as long as there is no evidence of physical this counts as a FOC Warranty Repair.

How long should I charge my Nokia Battery up for?
I hear so many stories about how long I should be charging my battery for - can you advise me for how long I should actually charge my handset battery.
A: Different handsets have different types of batteries so there is not a clear answer.
Our advice is to follow the instructions that have been given in the Nokia handbook manual.
Please also note that all batteries need to be charged for a longer period on their first charge. Once again instructions will be given in the Nokia handbook.

I have a Nokia handset, but it is not reading the memory card - Why is this?
A: There are several reasons why the handset may not be reading the memory card but one of these actions should provide a solution in most cases and can be done by Cellphones:
1) Software upgrade on the handset 2) Unblock the memory card reader by making a slight adjustment - this must be done by a qualified engineer.

A: Unfortunately the camera button is on the side of the handset and there is no lock for this. this cannot be changed.

I cannot delete the contacts on my handset
I have a Nokia handset - yet when I try to delete the contacts on the handset it asks me for a security code - How can I rectify this problem.
A: The default security code for Niokia handsets is 12345. Input this and the phone will allow you to delete the contacts.
If 12345 doers not work then the likelyhood is that the Security Code has been changed by the handset owner. We are able to reset the security code back to 12345 upon request however this is chargable to cover costs.

When i set my handset to the silent profile it still rings?
I have a Nokia handset and when I have it set to the silent profile it still rings - what is the problem here?
A: To rectify the problem ensure that you do the following:
If you go into the profile menu for silent and then go to the personalise option scroll down to incoming alert and make sure off is selected,activate this and it should cure your problem.
If this does not rectify the problem then it could be a software problem and we would need to look at the handset.

My phone will not add a photo onto the relevant name saved in the phone directory
I want to add a photo onto a name saved in my phone directory, however my phone will not allow this to be done - Why?
A: You can only add a photo onto a name that is saved in the Phone Directory. If the name is saved into the sim directory then copy it accross to the phone directory and then repeat the save procedure.
If you are still unable to save the picture to the name, then it may be another problem relating to the handset or the software. In this case we will need to look at the handset.

The 'headset' symbol on my phone remains permanently on the screen
The headset symbol on my handset constantly remains on my handset even though there is no headset or device connected to the phone - Why is this?
A: If the headset remains on the screen when there is no headset connected then the likelyhood is that there is one of three problems with your handset.
1) There could be a software problem that may rectify the problem when a new version of software is loaded onto the handset. We are able to supply this as a warranty service.
2) The botton connector/headset socket may be faulty and need replacing. This is a service that we can provide.
3) The bottom of the handset may have got wet causing the bottom connector to short circuit and cause the problem.

What is Over The Air (OTA) Configuration?
My phone manual says it is capable of OTA configuration - What is this and what are the benefits?
A: OTA Configuration allows you to have your WAP and MMS settings sent to you by your Phone Operationg Network (i.e. Vodafone, Orange etc) directly, rather than you having to put in the settings manually. The benefits are that it is easier for the handset owner and there is less likelyhood for mistakes to be made when inputting the settings.

Is there something on the market that I can purchase?
A: Nokia have produced several Plug-In handsfree kits that plug into the speaker and incorporate a speaker and a microphone.
These are easily transferrable and allow your phone to be handsfree whilst still being charged (via the cigarette lighter).
Nokia have manufactured a Bluetooth version (HF-6W), as well as the standard versions (HF-3 & PPH-1)
These kits will work with a large number of Nokia handsets.

My Nokia mains/car charger is not charging my handset - Is it a fault with the charger or the phone?
A: My first suggestion would be to try a different mains/car charger on your handset. If this does charge the phone then you know it is the charger at fault.
If this is still in the warranty period we can replace this for you free of charge. If it is not within the warranty period we can supply you with a genuine Nokia mains charger at £9.99 or a Car Charger at £5.00.

A: My first suggestion would be to try a different mains/car charger on your handset. If this does charge the phone then you know it is the charger at fault.
If this is still in the warranty period we can replace this for you free of charge. If it is not within the warranty period we can supply you with a genuine Nokia mains charger at £9.99 or a Car Charger at £5.00.

My Nokia handset keeps turning itself off on its own accord - What is the problem with this?
A: 1) Faulty battery - We are able to test the battery and if it is faulty and under 6 months old we can replace it under warranty FOC. If it is not under warranty then we are able to supply you with a genuine battery at a competetive price.
